Broom Leys Choral Society (BLCS) meets weekly on Tuesday evenings, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm, at Whitwick Methodist Church, Hall Lane, Whitwick, Leicestershire (opposite Whitwick Post Office).

The society is a mixed voice (SATB) choir performing a large repertoire from Lloyd-Webber and Gershwin to Rutter, Verdi, Mozart, Handel and other classical composers.

The Society welcomes new members - in the first instance, please contact our Chairman, Mr. Alan Ratcliffe on 01530 832732, or email webmaster@broomleyschoralsociety.org.uk

Brian has been M.D. of the society for over 25 years, and the members of the society are very proud of all Brian's achievements and extend to him, and his wife Jen, their very best wishes for the future.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Many congratulations to our Musical Director, Brian Humpherson, on having been awarded an M.B.E. in the 2008 New Year's Honours List for his services to music.

Concerts over the last few seasons have included Mozart’s  Requiem, Karl Jenkins The Armed Man, Elgar’s Music Makers, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and, on a lighter note, two Summer concerts entitled Singin'  'n' 'Swingin' where we were joined by a jazz group.

We also hold our very popular Christmas Carol Concert with a local  brass band.
