Andrew Goff – BLCS Musical Director
Andrew is a freelance musician and teacher, who has worked with a number of choral groups in Leicestershire. He is closely involved with Sing for Pleasure, the national choral organisation, as a tutor of conductor training.
Andrew has a growing reputation as a composer and arranger of choral music. He works with several musical theatre groups and is a member of Sine Nomine, the international touring choir. Andrew is interested in introducing singers and audiences to less familiar and neglected choral repertoire.
Anthony Wilson – BLCS Accompanist
Anthony started formal piano lessons at the age of fifteen. Whilst studying for a degree in Biology at the University of York, he continued his piano lessons with
Dennis Smalley and Grace Frankell, achieving an ARCM in pianoforte teaching and ALCM in pianoforte performance. He was subsequently, for many years, a private student of the late Professor Alex kelly at the Royal Academy of Music.
Since returning to his home county of Leicestershire he has worked as accompanist for numerous societies, including Coalville Amateur Operatic Society, Christchurch Theatre Group and Loughborough Amateur Operatic Society, and, of course, Broom Leys Choral Society. He also works intermittently with Charnwood Opera and Operhouse.
Whilst opera and choral music are his first love, Anthony enjoys playing chamber music with friends and accompanying solo recitals.
Anthony has recently (July 2011) retired as Assistant Principal of King Edward VII College, Coalville - a specialist science and sport college.
