CONGRATULATIONS!
Many congratulations to our Musical Director, Brian Humpherson, on having been awarded an M.B.E. in the 2008 New Year's Honours List for his services to music.

Brian has been M.D. of the society for over 25 years, and the members of the society are very proud of all Brian's achievements and extend to him, and his wife Jen, their very best wishes for the future.

In June 2008 the society were very sad to have to announce the sudden death of David Evans who had sung as a tenor, and served as a committee member of the society in various capacities, for many years.

David, a teacher from Whitwick, had taken time out to work as a volunteer in Ethiopia with the International Development Agency when he was involved in a collision with a vehicle while walking with a group of friends in the capital, Addis Ababa. David was killed outright, and others seriously injured.

The society are hoping to hold a concert in memory of David at Holy Cross Church in March 2009. Final details are still to be arranged, but will be announced as soon as confirmed.

It is with sadness that we announce the death of MARY WOOLERTON on 19th September 2008. Mary was a 'life member' of the Society, having joined the choir in its earliest days.
