Recent Concerts

Our Elgar '150' Celebration Concert was held at castle Rock High School, Coalville on 17th March 2007, when we performed a concert of Elgar music, including 'Songs from the Bavarian Highlands' and 'MUSIC MAKERS'. Our guest soloist, Elaine Armitage also sang 'Where Corals Lie' from Elgar's 'Sea Pictures'. Everyone seemed to enjoy the both the concert and the venue, which was new to the society, where the facilities were excellent!

The picture below was taken at the end of the concert, and shows Brian Humpherson (Musical Director), Elaine Armitage (Soloist) and Anthony Wilson (Accompanist).

The Christmas Family Carol Concert, was held at St. John's Church, Hugglescote on Saturday 16th December 2006, when we welcomed guests Enderby band and oboist Christine Griggs. The concert, as usual, was performed to a full church and was a greatly enjoyable start to the Christmas  season.

Haydn's "Maria Theresa" Mass and Handel's Coronation Anthems, with orchestra and soloists. Presented at HOLY CROSS CHURCH, Parsonwood Hill, Whitwick on Saturday 25th November 2006.
